Ukrainian Singers to Little Musicians

During the charity concert it was decided to raise funds to help Ukrainians for two worthy causes:  the “Come Back Alive” fund and a Refugees Meetup fund to help pay for music lessons for Ukrainian children who wish to have music lessons in Amsterdam. We collected almost €1.250, which was divided equally between the two causes. 

In fact it was a follow-on from an earlier meetup for Ukrainian refugees in the summer, that was organized together with Concertino Music School and the Keizersgrachtkerk. That afternoon Ukrainian children attended open music lessons at the Keizersgrachtkerk. As some of them very much wanted to continue with their chosen instrument,  Refugees Meetup decided to raise funds for a year of study at Concertino Music School. 

We could not have done it without the help of the Keizersgrachtkerk congregation who also fundraised among their members. And of Concertino music school who arranged for a subsidy of JCF, the Jongeren Cultuur Fonds, to pay for 50% of the school fees.   

The October concert for Ukrainian refugees was held thanks to the joint efforts of:

• “Singing for Ukraine” project — a group of young musicians who promote the acquaintance of the Dutch with Ukrainian culture and collect funds to help Ukrainians.
• Refugees Meetup — a charity that helps refugees adapt in the Netherlands.
• Keizersgrachtkerk, which once again provides space for our events.

2 жовтня українські музиканти та вокалісти проекту «Sing.for.Ukraine» (Instagram: @sing.for.ukraine) за підтримки Refugees MeetUp провели концерт у Keizersgrachtkerk. На цьому заході для біженців в Амстердамі вони співали хіти українських гуртів «Океан Ельзи», «Скрябін», «Джамала», The Hardkiss та інших.

Під час благодійного концерту було оголошено збір коштів на допомогу українцям. Загалом зібрали майже €1 250, які згодом розділили між українським фондом Повернись живим і навчанням українських дітей в музичній школі Амстердаму. 

Нагадаємо, в серпні Refugees MeetUp разом з Concertino Music School провели у Keizersgrachtkerk інший захід для біженців з України — відкриті уроки музики для українських дітей. Для тих з них, хто вирішив вчитися далі в Concertino Music School і були зібрані кошти на благодійному концерті.

Ми не змогли б зробити це без допомоги Keizersgrachtkerk, яка також збирала кошти серед своїх членів. І музичної школи Concertino, яка організувала субсидію JCF (Jongeren Cultuur Fonds), щоб оплатити 50% навчання.

Жовтневий концерт для біженців з України відбувася завдяки спільним зусиллям:

• Проекту «Співаємо за Україну». Це група молодих музикантів, які сприяють знайомству нідерландців з українською культурою та збирають кошти на допомогу українцям.
• Refugees Meetup – благодійної організації, що допомагає біженцям адаптуватися в Нідерландах.
• Keizersgrachtkerk, яка вже вкотре надає приміщення для наших заходів.
